Canon a annoncé une caméra industrielle arborant un capteur 15 mégapixels monochrome et, plus étrange (et, à première vue au moins) une monture Nikon F. L'appareil est destiné à l'industrie manufacturière, où Canon estime qu'il va être utilisé pour des applications de contrôle de la qualité que l'oeil humain n'est pas assez sensible pour. À cette fin, le capteur monochrome fournit à faible bruit, haute sensibilité, et une grande plage dynamique pour être en mesure de capturer les moindres imperfections dans un produit.
